Who We Are
The foundation was started by Zulema and Cara Peralta-Neel in 2021, in Zulema's home province of Guayas, Ecuador.
Who was Pedro? Pedro was a beloved uncle who often helped put his nieces and nephews through school, and truly valued education. He passed away in 2021, and we established the foundation in his memory.

"I attended college on 100% financial aid, but still didn't have money for textbooks. My uncle Pedro sent me money so that I could buy them, and traveled to see me graduate college.
Over the years, he helped put many of my cousins through school-- elementary through college. Although he didn't go to college himself, he always pushed us to get an education in order to succeed."

What We Do
We distribute backpacks and school supplies, cost-free, to low-income children in schools around the city of Naranjal.
How do you choose who gets a backpack ?
We talk to teachers and principles in local schools to identify the supplies necessary for each child, and how many children will require supplies.

Where do you get your supplies?
We have all of our backpacks made in Ecuador and the supplies are bought from wholesale distributors in Guayaquil Ecuador.
Where can I donate?
We do yearly GoFundMe's. We'll update with the link for 2024-2025.

Are you a 501(C)3 Foundation ?
We are working to establish our non-profit status, but right now we are not a registered 501(c)3 foundation.
